  • BIR's Paper Division asked the EU for a ≥6-month delay to the Digital Waste Shipment System (DIWASS), live since May 21 with a Dec. 31 registration deadline — only tens of the 1,000+ Asian mills taking Europe's 6–8M t/yr of surplus recovered paper have registered, and receiving-plant audits kick in May 21, 2027 (Papnews)
  • Cepi issued a new edition of its EUDR implementation guidance for the pulp and paper value chain, replacing the June 2025 guide and folding in the Dec. 2025 amendment, the May 2026 simplification package and 2026 secondary legislation; the revised EUDR applies from Dec. 30, 2026 (Papnews)

Forestry & Timber

  • Claymark is closing its Te Kūiti timber-processing mill in New Zealand's Waitomo district, cutting 35 jobs, as it consolidates volume into its larger Rotorua and Katikati sites on weak markets and rising costs — just as locally planted pine reaches harvest age (B2B News)
