Cepi warns of "slow, sustained erosion" in Europe's paper industry Cepi's 2025 Key Statistics report shows European paper and board production fell 1.6% in 2025 to 77.4 million tonnes, with graphic papers down 7.3%, cartonboard down 5.4%, and Q1 2026 output another 2.4% lower year-on-year; imports hit a record 7.7% of EU consumption even as the sector cut specific CO2 emissions 10.2% and sourced 92% of its wood within Europe. Canfor completes acquisition of I-joist maker PinkWood Canfor has closed its purchase of Calgary-based PinkWood Ltd., first announced June 9, adding roughly 46 million linear feet of annual I-joist capacity and about 120 employees; PinkWood will keep operating under its own name as a wholly owned subsidiary as Canfor expands in value-added engineered wood products.
