Italian study finds paper packaging drives recycling in quick-service restaurants Research commissioned by Comieco, Seda International Packaging and McDonald's and conducted by Ambiente Italia across seven Italian McDonald's locations found 84% of waste correctly separated (versus a 68% national average), an 87% recycling rate for paper packaging, and cellulose-based items making up 88% of packaging used — one of the most comprehensive packaging-waste analyses in Italy's fast-food sector. Ottawa awards nearly CAD$130 million to 56 pellet, bioenergy and biocarbon projects Madison's June heating wood pellet market update details Natural Resources Canada funding of close to CAD$130 million across 56 projects, including CAD$473,871 to the Wood Pellet Association of Canada to assess export readiness of thermally treated pellets, plus a CAD$5.5 million Ontario investment in renewable fuel from mill waste; ENplus meanwhile reported a record 14.5 million tonnes of certified pellets in 2025, led by Germany at 3.95 million tonnes, with volumes expected to top 15 million tonnes in 2026.
