A weather event damaged a critical roof at the Pine Hill, Alabama mill, prompting IP to halt operations as a precautionary measure while repairs are made; operations are expected to resume in August. Valmet to supply Sun Paper with new containerboard making line in Nanning, China. The full board making line — including headboxes, a forming section with Sleeve roll technology, a compact dryer section and dual winders — will produce high-capacity kraftliner and testliner grades at Sun Paper's Liujing Industrial Park mill in Hengzhou, Nanning, with start-up planned for fall 2027. Minhan Paper orders second ANDRITZ OCC recycling line for Vietnam mill. The repeat order covers a complete old corrugated containers (OCC) line with a capacity of 700 tonnes per day of corrugating medium, plus a 100 t/d broke handling system, at Minhan Paper's mill in Hung Yen province; start-up is scheduled for the first half of 2027. Madison's Lumber Prices Index edges up to US$547 mfbm. The benchmark North American softwood lumber index rose US$2 on the week to US$547 per thousand board feet, and is up 4% (+US$23) from US$524 one month ago, reflecting gradual price appreciation in a supply-constrained market.
